Froggy Hollow Fainters

Our farm name is Froggy Hollow--our goats are Froggy Hollow Fainters. We raise registered Tennessee Fainting Goats (sometimes called Myotonic, or Wooden Leg goats). Fainters are great pets, because they can't climb well (or at all).

And yes, they really do "faint"--actually, when they are startled, their muscles lock up, they don't really lose consciousness. And it's usually just for a few seconds. Wethers (neutered males) and does make excellent pets. And if you raise meat goats, they say that adding a buck to your herd can really improve it. They are considered an American Rare Breed (actually, threatened status) by the American Livestock Breed Conservancy.

We have kids early each spring, and you can reserve one with a non-refundable deposit of $50. The 2009 babies have all sold--we have kept two. They are by Bending Tree Ranch Buster, our blue-eyed buck. Sadly, Buster died last fall, so we are searching for a new herd sire.
