And yes, they really do "faint"--actually, when they are startled, their muscles lock up, they don't really lose consciousness. And it's usually just for a few seconds. Wethers (neutered males) and does make excellent pets. And if you raise meat goats, they say that adding a buck to your herd can really improve it. They are considered an American Rare Breed (actually, threatened status) by the American Livestock Breed Conservancy.
